Where to find a nice breakfast at Mermaid Beach, Gold Coast?

We visited a month ago on Anzac Day as we were on the mission to find a good brunch place. A good friend recommended we check out a cafe on Hedges Ave (originally this place was Cafe Republic). It was not a pleasant weather day and several showers, strong wind greeted us when we got out of the car. When we arrived the cafe was packed and also because it was a public holiday a lot of people were waiting to enjoy the breakfast just like us. The interior has some fabulous murals.

The menu is quite interesting with many breakfast options but one of our party decided to order Egg Benedict with Spinach and Avocado Smash. For the two bloggers we decided to share the Breakfast Trio – it has three pieces of multigrain toast one with bacon tomato feta cheese with pesto and the other one was with smoked salmon and avocado and in the middle we got 2 poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. The meat eater in out party had the bacon!

The breakfast was great and everyone enjoyed the meal but, in our opinion, the coffee was a big weak with not much coffee flavour so maybe next time we will order double shots.

Mission completed we paid the bill and headed off for a walk near the beach.
