Yum Cha at New Shanghai Brisbane CBD

Wow, what a day. We travelled to Brisbane on business to arrange passport details for a forthcoming conference. Unfortunately the processing office was closed, despite allowing an online appointment time …. grrr grrr.

Well, to make the most of the trip we stopped by the Myer Centre Food Court to grab a yum cha style meal at New Shanghai. This place has a special meaning to us as when Wei’s mum travelled back to China in 2015 the owner was very helpful in assisting ‘mum’ through the immigration section at Brisbane airport.

Today, we had ‘mum’ with us so we shared a few dishes.

Other dishes included green beans, spring onion pancake and prawn spring roll.

We all voted that – for a food court versus restaurant – the food could be 8.5-9. Bev’s favourite was the prawn roll, Wei loved this too and Jing enjoyed the wanton.

Total cost was under $50. We recommend giving it a go for a value, quick meal.
