We felt like a quick night out with friends at the end of the week. So, where could be go? We decided head off to Thai on Ferry, just a few minutes up the road. This is a little BYO restaurant located on Ferry Road, Southport (Gold Coast, Australia) and does eat in or take away.
It serves a good range of Thai food and the menu is plenty big enough for even a fussy diner. There was a steady flow of diners and people getting take away on the night we visited. This is our second visit to the little place and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the meals that we ordered.
We decided to order some Fish Cakes and Salt and Pepper Calamari to start. Our view is that fish cakes can be a good indicator of the worth of a Thai restaurant! They were good.
Then we went for Duck with Thai spices (one of our party had been craving duck for a few weeks!), Whole Barramundi and also some Veg and Tofu Curry with Rice to follow (to keep the vego happy). The fish was really crispy and tasty. The veg and tofu curry was excellent – tasty, with a bit of spice. The tofu was perfect. By all reports (from the meat eater) the duck was perfect – tender, juicy, not too fatty and really tasty.
We chose to sit on the pavement. The good thing about this little place is that it is dog friendly (outdoors), suited us as one of our dining party had a small dog that was not able to be left at home alone.
The service is very good and all staff are very helpful and friendly. All our little requests were met with a smile.
Definitely recommend this little place for a simple and tasty meal; we will be back real soon.
$99 for four people is good value.
