A trip to the farmers market

What better way to spend a Sunday and to get out to your local farmers market? Our local market, located on the Gold Coast, has been running for many many years at the Gold Coast Turf Club grounds. Recently it relocated to the Arts Centre in Surfers Paradise.

This little farmers market has a real diversity of stalls. Every week we like to go along and, of course, we have our favourite stallholders – selling fruit and vegetables, olives, cheese, special dips and other beautiful offerings.

As usual, it was quite crowded, even though we went at 7.30am – like everyone else we were out early as the sun rises about 4.30am.

Our absolute favourite – cannot miss out  – is the special “pink dip”. We have been buying it for years and it never fails to impress.  Totally the BEST ever taramasalata.

The best of the best

This time we decided we would actually stay for breakfast. We ordered up big choosing a couple of Eggs Benedict, a beautiful buckwheat pancake filled with smoke salmon, and spinach Flatbread.
