Arriving in Melbourne we stayed in a small house in the suburb of Kensington around about 3 km out of the centre of Melbourne. We found our house on a AirBnB and chose it because it was located close to the station and had two bedrooms, and free Wi-Fi. Plus it is close to the city but more economical. It was a lovely location and really quiet.
We had set up some appointments with several of the small cafes in Melbourne that are listed for their success on Instagram by Urban List Melbourne.
We had a few meetings one of which we will highlight here. We found a lovely little cafe called Ascot Food Store. As it turns out, this place is run by a very enthusiastic chef called Dave. Dave is really passionate about food but is also passionate about Instagram. We had a great chat with him and learnt a lot about the way he approaches his restaurant and also his use of Instagram.
Ascot Food Store is famous for the most Instagrammable donuts and chef Dave tries to provide different flavour daily. The flavour of the day was Golden Gay Time! Very picturesque indeed!
We took a short lunch break at Dainty Sichuan in South Yarra ordering some beautiful prawns and a Mo Po Tofu.
Later in the day we headed into the city for a walk past some of the Christmas windows before sitting down for a bowl of noodles at Dainty Sichuan Noodle Express (Emporium).
Then we finished off the day with a matcha ice cream from N2 before jumping on the train back to Kensington. Tired but happy, as usual.
