Today we paid a visit to our Instagram bestie – our very favourite Ruby Chai (Louise). We arrived at her warehouse in Marrickville. On our way to meet her, we decided to drop by a ice-cream place – Booza, recommended by Louise as it was a super hot day in Sydney (38 degrees).
We were so fortunate that Louise (Ruby Chai) was kind enough to pick us up as first of all Cameron, Louise’s partner, showed us some of the coffee making facilities for the Leftfield Coffee Roasters coffee brand.
Next, we headed upstairs for an opportunity to taste the delightful teas of Ruby Chai. Wow were we in for a treat!
Louise made us three separate cups of tea: first we tasted the rooibos chai – Ruby Red Chai; then we moved on to some hand blended Honey Ruby Chai tea with some soy milk; finally we tried the special chai blend – Ruby Masala Chai, once again made with some soy milk.
Feeling very spoiled we were offered some gorgeous Portugal egg tarts to have with our tea. We can feel our waistlines expanding by the minute.
We had a wonderful time just sitting back and chatting with Louise discussing social media, food, restaurants, cafes, tea, coffee it was such a lot of fun. Louise also took us to visit Cornersmith, which provides lots of interesting cooking workshops and owns a cute cafe.
What seems to set the teas apart at Ruby Chai is the love and passion that goes into blending these teas by Louise. A signature of her blending is that she only uses the best of ingredients and authentic ingredients; they are all real flavours and she doesn’t use any essences or artificial flavouring.
