The Paddock Bakery, Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast

The Paddock Bakery is a great cafe/bakery with awesome food and coffee. It has a fabulous garden, growing green veggies and different herbs. It is also lovely to have full view of the kitchen and watch the baking through the massive glass windows.

It is always busy so be prepared to line up and grab a seat as soon as someone leaves. If you can manage to get a parking spot right outside the bakery, it will be a bonus. The choice of food is unique with some great health options as well as the indulgent choices you would expect from an onsite bakery. Their desserts look attractive and tempting as well. You want to convince yourself that “Let’s not quit sugar for just one day!”

We have visited Paddock a few times, and this time we arrived around lunch time and managed to get a great seat right next to the lovely garden. It was a perfect sunny day you always have on the coast, which make you feel enjoying lunch in the paradise!

We ordered the Dippy Eggs. This was fantastic. It was quite unique as it was served in an egg carton. There were two soft-boiled eggs on one side with diced bacon, organic labna and parsley all in their own cells. On the other side of the carton were strips of sourdough bread with butter.

You are supposed to dip the bread in the soft boiled egg and then use the small spoon to add the toppings to the bread. We took a few nice pictures when enjoying our lunch to demonstrate how to eat dippy eggs, haha!

We also ordered the green tea latte which was also excellent. We are big fans of green tea products and this latte is definitely recommended.

The dippy eggs cost $12 plus two green tea latte $5 each, in total $22. We definitely recommend this place and will be back again.
