We stopped in to Social Brew Burleigh to try their cold drip coffee. We ended up ordering one cold drip coffee, a soya cappuccino and a skinny cappuccino. The little lemon tart – too hard to resist, also tempted us.
Social Brew is located at Burleigh Heads in a little laneway arcade. We were there on a Sunday morning and it was very busy with lots of people enjoying a breakfast.
It was our second visit to Social Brew. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit with a fish taco and cold drip coffee. So we ordered our cold drip to try it again!
This time our visit was not as perfect. One of our coffees was incorrectly delivered as the soya milk was actually cow’s milk; when we reported this to the waitress we got a rather unpleasant reply telling us with we were wrong. However, were very confident it was dairy as two of us always drink soy and the tasted is quite different. They did replace the coffee and the second one was better but by then the customer service didn’t feel good. So we were left with a bit of an unpleasant experience for us at this café.
The lemon tart was fabulous – just the right balance of sweet and sour.
The cold drip was also great – soft, smooth and poured over ice.
Mixed feelings for us on this visit; but we hope to try it again as summer comes into full force.
About $20 for three coffees and a small tart.
