It’s always a little bit funny but when a place is booked out you really want to go there don’t you?
That’s what happened to us with Tribeca – we went there a couple of weeks ago and it was booked out. We chatted to the people at the bar and they were really really nice, so we thought ‘okay we’re going to make a booking for the following week’.
We went back on a Thursday evening and it was much quieter – also a little bit chilly – we sat out on the pavement.
The menu was themed for an Italy food night so most of the dishes where around pasta and ‘balls’: meatballs, veggie balls and a couple of different sauces.
We opted for salt & pepper calamari, vegetarian balls (for us) and meatballs (for the meat eater) and a Caesar salad to share between three.
Two soft drinks, one bottle of beer and a glass of wine together with the meals came to $ 76.
The service was excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was good but for us not great. Nice bar food. Overall we enjoyed it but probably won’t rush back.
