First let me say we’re not really the burger sort of girls. But in the line of duty we thought we better check out Boom Boom Organic Burgers and Bar, a new burger joint on Chevron Island, Gold Coast.
It was a balmy Wednesday evening. We started with some tapas: wild salmon, haloumi, apple chutney. It was tasty enough although the haloumi was not a really strong flavoured salty sort of haloumi.
We opted for three different sorts of burgers one was the Phat Greek (lamb, tzatziki), another was the Fishnet (battered whiting, lettuce, tartare sauce, radish), and the last one was the vegetarian Hello Lucy (grilled haloumi, rocket, tomato relish, lettuce). We opted for a side of zucchini in batter and it was delicious.
The burgers were in a soft bun and all perfectly acceptable; easy eating but not a big wow flavour hit.
Overall we enjoyed the evening and enjoyed the burgers but we were not converted to become big burger eaters so it’s not likely that we will be back soon.
